How are Aboriginal Targeted Dollars allocated in SD#91?
The majority of the Aboriginal Targeted Dollars in SD#91 are placed directly in the schools for school/community based planning and implementation. A small percentage of the overall funds are kept at the district level for district level activities and expenditures. The Ministry allows for up to 10% to be charged for administration fees – “costs associated with consultation/advisory processes and negotiation and management of Local Education Agreements.” SD # 91 allocates less then 10% for this purpose and, even at the district level, puts the majority of the money into education programs.
