How any blood tests during pregnancy?

Ok..I am one of those people who feel faint and sick during and after blood tests and I regularly donate blood too! Here are some suggestions that have helped me. Drink plenty of fluids about 45 minutes or more before a blood draw. The more fluid in your system, the easier it is to find a vein and get the needed blood. Have them put the little rubber thing (tourniquet-like) on your upper arm, not near your elbow. I don’t know why the elbow thing is taught. It is not an improvement and it makes me nausea as well. Ask for someone with more experience. Let someone else who has less problem with blood draws deal with the less experienced person. Have a COLD washcloth, or freezer bag or something and place it around the back of your neck. Really helps. Don’t look at the needle at all. Just look away and let them do their thing. Hope these help. Unless you have complications, they normally draw blood the 1st prenatal, then again around week 28 and then sometimes towards the end of pregnancy.
