How and why is the hot wire for the ClearDrain System tied into the vehicle’s electrical system?

A. The hot wire (either can be the hot wire as the system is not polarity sensitive) is connected into the vehicle’s ignition circuit so that power to the ClearDrain System is cut off when the ignition is turned off. This causes an air-operated solenoid in the ClearDrain to shut off and allows the valve to open. When the ignition is started again, this activates the solenoid and closes the valve. Hot wire must be attached to the first pole position of the ignition; the other wire becomes the ground.
