The Nikon Coolpix L18 is an eight megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom lens, and 3.0″ LCD display. Priced at $140, the Nikon L18 goes on sale from March 2008. Also shipping in March 2008 are four new S-series digital cameras. The Coolpix S210, S520, S550 and S600 will cost between $180 and $300. The S210 and S520 are eight megapixel 3x zoom cameras, while the S550 and S600 bump the resolution slightly to ten megapixels. The S550 has a 5x zoom lens, and the S600 has a 4x zoom with a useful 28mm wide angle. It also features a 2.7″ LCD, where the other three cameras have 2.5″ LCDs. All four cameras draw power from proprietary Lithium Ion rechargeables, and include built-in memory (ranging from 23 to 52MB depending on the model) as well as SD card slots.
