How and when will the Principal, teachers, and staff be selected for Boerne High School?
When BISD opens a new school, much work is done in advance on staffing that new school. The superintendent and others will begin work on selecting a Principal for Boerne High School in fall 2008. Ideally, that new Principal can begin preparing for his/her role as early as January 2009. Also, it is likely that at least one counselor and secretary could be assigned to Boerne High School at that time, in anticipation of the tremendous scheduling and logistical arrangements necessary to re-open that school in August 2009. The administration will also survey teachers at Champion High School, Boerne Middle School North, and Boerne Middle School South to determine their preferences for assignment during 2009/10. The respective Principals along with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction will then work out staffing assignments at each of the 4 schools affected (CHS, BHS, BMSS, BMSN) noting that 9th grade is being moved to the two high schools in the 2009/10 school year.
