HOW and WHEN will the orange bags be collected?
Orange and black bags should be placed on the kerbside on the SAME DAY as your normal refuse collection. However, collection of these bags will now take place HALF AN HOUR EARLIER than your usual time. Please assist us in placing your bags out earlier. A SEPARATE vehicle will then collect the orange bags. The orange bags are then taken to a purpose built Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) where contents are sorted, baled and sent for recycling. There are many items that can be made from recycled materials e.g. plastic bottles can be used to make fleeces, stationery and mugs. If the normal time of your refuse collection is first thing in the morning you may have to place your orange and black bags out the night before. If this is the case we would advise that you cover the bags with an old mat, curtain or blanket in order to prevent them being ripped open by animals etc.
