Repayments will be made via the UK tax system using the current Income Contingent Repayment system. Repayments will be deducted from salary for any period that the graduate is earning in excess of the threshold (currently circa £15,000), at a rate of 9% over the threshold. Any remaining balance is written off after 25 years. Students also taking out a maintenance loan will not have to pay twice, but will continue to repay at 9%.
