How and when do the deacons count the offering and what would be helpful for the congregation to know about the process?
The deacons have a system in which we assign four deacons to collect and count offering for every service during a month. Each group of four determines when it works best to count, but is usually between services or after second service. Because of this, a gift may not be counted until the following week and not show on your bank statement for 8 to 10 days. What helps in counting is if you use the boxes provided on the envelope to write amounts for each fund and use one check total. Also, there is no need to fold or tape envelopes. If you have a question for the deacons please email the question to the church office and it will be directed to Deacon’s for an answer.
