How and and religion are reasons for continuing conflicts in the middle east?
Three major religions are tied to Jerusalem and no one wants to give up control. Also, Islam is a state religion (it states that it should be in control of the government) in the way it works, causing problems with those who think religion and state should be seperate. This added with anymosity between muslim and christians during the Crusades (the christians were first invaded then sent invasion forces during the middle ages) and the jews and muslims (Jews refused to fight with the muslims when their territories that they occupied together were invaded.
