How accurately can the size of the Peruvian Gold Sands deposit be measured?
The Peruvian Gold Sands cover an area of 1,000 square kilometers (386 square miles). But the full depth of the mineralization is still unknown. Drilling has gone down to 32 meters (105 feet) without hitting bedrock and the North Peru Oil Pipeline (Oleoducto Norperuano) is buried in gold-bearing sands and gravels at depth of 54 meters (177 feet) below the Marañón river. Constitution’s drilling will test to a depth of about 50 meters (164 feet). So the actual volume of ore is somewhere between huge and enormous. Constitution Mining’s exploration drilling should tell us which.
