• A: We refer you to the following paper: SIR-C Data Quality and Calibration Results by A. Freeman, M. Alves, B. Chapman, J. Cruz, Y. Kim, S. Shaffer, J. Sun, E. Turner and K. Sarabandi in IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Vol. 33, No. 4, July 1995, pp. 848. • Q: How accurate are the coordinates for the corners of SIR-C images? I’m trying to align some GPS data on top of some images and the alignment with the land topography is skewed. • A: To the best of my knowledge the coordinates supplied in the CEOS header are calculated from the imaging geometry assuming a height supplied by the PI for that site. Now, if the test site is at a different elevation than the corners (which will nearly allways be the case) these coordinates are going to be off by quite a bit. Hence, I would trust the GPS rather than the CEOS header coordinates. Of course, given the track information in the header you can try and improve the estimate of the corner location if you have any knowledge re
