How accurate is tempguard compared to other thermometers?
Test have shown that a more accurate reading is obtained from the abdomen than the ear or forehead. (this is the reason why ear or forehead thermometer manufacturers advise you to take multiple readings and then average the results) As the only true core body temperature reading is possible from a rectal reading (which is very intrusive and uncomfortable for the child) we are pleased with advocating tempguard as the most accurate “non invasive” thermometer. The Tempguard has been laboratory tested and the findings confirm that the accuracy of the thermometer is within 0.1oC.
