A PET scan is used to monitor how our body is working metabolically, such as how it utilizes oxygen, glucose, things that keep us running so to speak. One of it’s most common uses is, at least what I see it used most commonly for, is in the diagnosis of cancer. Although, technically nothing is 100% next to a biopsy, the results of a PET scan would be hard to argue.
