How accurate is a pregnancy test if the urine stream isn for 5 seconds?

The reason you have to hold it in the urine stream 5 seconds is to make sure there is enough urine on it. It doesn’t affect the accuracy of the test as long as the control line shows up. That shows that there was enough urine to make sure it soaked past the strip that detects the pregnancy hormone in it. So if it has 2 lines you’re preggo and if it has one line (the control line) you are not. If the control line didn’t show up then you know there wasn’t enough urine on the stick and you have to try another test.

Not sure how it really affects the test but i know they say to make sure it is exactly 5 seconds on some tests and 10 seconds on others so i just gave in and used the cup.

i don really think it matters but if you want the most accurate results you should test with the urine from when you barely wake up
