How Accurate Are Weather Forecasts?
Ah, Wednesday. Time to start thinking about weekend plans. And that means the first step is a check of the weather forecast. But is Wednesday too early to rely on a weekend weather prediction? Not necessarily, say two Michigan meteorologists. Temperature is pretty easy, says Ernie Ostuno, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids. But, “precipitation is the big wild card. Scattered thunderstorms can ruin your outing. But most people know they won’t be directly underneath it all day long.” The thing with weather is, sometimes the maps give an ideal glimpse at what’s ahead. And sometimes, it’s anyone’s guess. That’s the part that keeps Lansing WILX Channel 10’s Andy Provenzano on his toes. “When I talk to the kids at schools, I tell them I take a test every single day,” Provenzano said. “It’s the same question each day: What’ the weather for tomorrow? I don’t know what my accuracy is, but it’s the best it can be right now.” Contact Amanda Renkas at 267-1392 or arenk
If you have a look on; www.weather.com, You can get an hour-by-hour forecast for Stoke on Trent….and sorry, its not good for today, looks like the rain is set in for the day. Weather is one of those unpredictable things about nature….hard to give an accurate forecast! To be honest though, I think when you’re having a day at Alton towers, the weather doesn’t really matter!! You’ll get wet on some of the rides anyway, so just try and dress to suit the weather….you’ll have a great day regardless of the rain! Enjoy!
