How accurate are the results of Home Ovulation Kit?
Those ovulation kits don’t work for everyone…they certainly didn’t work for me. They measure the lutenizing horomone, which is secreted right before you ovulate. I would end up getting the double lines that were the same shade of dark for a lot of time during my cycle, and I know people who would never get the other line, even though they ovulated. The best way to check is to track your basal body temperature for a few months…if there is a sudden and distinct rise it means that you ovulated. The other way, which is a good one but can be expensive, is to buy a fertility monitior which meausres the lutenizing horomone and your estrogren levels a lot more accurately. Clear Blue Easy has one that runs around 150, but you also need to purchase test sticks that can run you an extra 20 or 30…..my husband and I used both the charting and the fertility monitior and found them to be accurate…after two months we were pregnant….although we had tried with the ovulation kits and had a hard
