how accurate are home ovulation kits?

I don’t find them very accurate. I took them for a couple of months and it said that I had an LH surge (about to ovulate) however those months I didn’t. Now this month I am on clomid, and it was confirmed I ovulated… but the ovulation test didn’t say so. I wouldn’t bother buying them.
