How accessible are the Museum buildings?

0

A. Only ground floor galleries are open when the Museum is open to the public. These are accessible to most wheelchair users, but there are some narrow doorways (800mm) and a shallow threshold at the entrance door. There is also a slight ramp in the corridor from the reception area into the galleries, but alternative access directly into the gallery can be arranged. There are Blue Badge-holder bays in the long stay car park next to the Library and opposite the Museum for disabled people with severe walking difficulties or those who are registered as severely sight impaired. Guide and hearing dogs are welcome. Seating is provided in the galleries. Please contact the Museum before your visit if you want to know more about access.
