Boy, Was My Hubby in the Dog House! We had a lovely Silky Terrier for 12 years, but she died two years ago this June 21. My hubby knew how much I missed her, and he really wanted to get another Silky for me. We discussed in length the issue of getting another Silky pup, and I told him I wanted to wait a year, and I for sure didn’t want to get a puppy during the winter! We live in Alaska, and we have very long winters. Well, he didn’t listen to me, and bought an adorable, furry Silky pup for my birthday … in November! I wasn’t very happy about having to house train this tiny little fuzz ball when it was 10 degrees below zero! To say the least, I was upset with the situation! So I called my vet and asked her how in the world do we train a small puppy in the winter? She suggested “Wee Wee Pads”. At first I thought she was being cute, wee wee pads!
