Honestly, How Many Different SPIDERMAN Comics Are there?
There are currently, 4 ongoing Spiderman titles. Amazing Spiderman (which released 3 times a month) Sensational Spiderman Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman Ultimate Spiderman The first three are stories that happen in the main Marvel Universe (Earth 616) while Ultimate Spiderman takes place in the Ultimate Universe (which was created in an attempt to attract new readers as it was a re-start for the character). There are other non-cannon titles such as Spiderman Loves Mary Jane, which is aimed at a younger, female market and then there are mini-series,one shots and titles that follow other characters such as Spidergirl. Most mainstream comic book characters have more than one titles. It is a sales tactic – the more titles there are, the more issues sold, the more money made. In a less cynical world, there are lots of stories to be told about a character and if the market is there, then why not have multiple titles.
