HITLER / STALIN: Who is more responsible for more lost of lives while in power “Hitler” or “Stalin”?

i think that Stalin would have been more powerful and have carried out worse than Hitler if he had the opportunity. but Hitler was more responsible because the countries that supported him followed through with his plans and therefore he was responsible for more deaths.

I think Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were equally evil characters, but what Hitler did was worse in the end. Stalin can claim more DIRECT victims (meaning that Hitler isn’t held responsible for deaths from the Second World War other than the Holocaust). I think history will always judge Hitler as more evil because 1) Fascism is a more sinister ideology, 2) Hitler and his Axis partners essentially made a bid for world domination and started World War II, and 3) Hitler’s genocides were systematic and efficient and only lasted for a few years as compared to Stalin’s long reign Stalin had all the technologies Hitler had, even more advanced technology in the postwar years, and always had many more resources. He just never tried to take over Europe or the world, maybe he was a little bit more sane than Hitler and wanted to stay in power, or maybe Hitler beat him to it, failed miserably, and then Stalin never got the oppurtunity. Stalin also fought on the right side of history in World War
