High Protein Diet Plans – Are They Good For You?
If you are like many people trying to lose weight and are considering one of the popular high protein diet plans, there are a few important facts you need to know. Obviously protein is a very important part of anyone’s daily intake of calories. But is it safe to completely do away with carbohydrates and eat only a high protein diet? Proteins help your body to create muscles, blood, skin, hair, nails and internal organs. They also regulate the balance between the water and acids in your body. But you can put yourself in grave danger by consuming too much, particularly animal protein. You can run the very real risk of heart disease and stroke, not to mention kidney stones (ouch!) and osteoporosis. Carbohydrates, on the other hand, are considered to be nature’s best fuel source. Carbs come in two distinct groupings- simple and complex.. Simple carbohydrates are really just simple sugars: fruit sugar, table sugar, sucrose and lactose (milk sugar). By their very definition complex carbs hav
