If they’re going to have sex then your cousin can be prosecuted for statutory rape. 16 years old is not considered “of age” and there’s no defense for consensual sex w/ a 16 year old. If the girl’s parents, teachers, or other adults have proof of intercourse with the minor, they can prefer the charges.
