If you mean the Academy of Art University in San Francisco – I went to school there and was very well trained. It is incredibly expensive though, as is living in San Francisco. Expect rent to be at least 1300/mo for a one bedroom – and that is in bad neighborhoods. You can learn to be an excellent photographer for less. Four years of school: 100K. Living expenses for 4 years: 75K (minimum.) If you mean the Art Institute of California in SF – it also a great school – not as technically oriented as AAU. The Art Institutes are diploma mills. You actually need to be more specific as to which school you mean. All of them are expensive. City College of SF has a great photo program (and a lot of the same teachers as the three more expensive schools.) Don’t bring your car.
