Hey, Ive got a fan web site devoted to (Insert Sub Pop Band here). Can I use images/sound clips/whatever from the Sub-Pop site?
You are hereby granted official Sub-Pop permission to use unaltered Sub-Pop owned material from the Sub Pop web emporium. Here’s the deal: We generally don’t mind when people use material from our site, except music and video’s*. You’ve already done half the work by trying to find out if it’s OK, and from here we only ask that you give credit where credit is due, and mention somewhere near the pictures/text that you got the material from us and that we gave you permission to use it. Shrinking an image is OK, but cutting, cropping, or defacing our stuff will make us unhappy. Bear in mind that some of the material on the Sub Pop site is not owned by Sub Pop, and it is your job to figure out who owns stuff and get permission from the various third parties. *music and video’s can only be obtained for use through contractual agreements.
