Henry Hulme – Why do exam papers have “Blank Pages” that blatantly are not blank?

When the examiners were compiling the papers they got half way through writing the exam. By now they have probably been working for about 8 or so hours when one of them says, “Do you want to go down to the pub?” to which everyone replies, yes! Upon returning to the office they are really very pissed but decide to continue writing. Unfortunately when they give the finished paper to the chief examiner an hour before they reach the deadline he is unimpressed by what they have produced and have to pull the last three pages from the final article. However the printers have already started work on the other pages and so all they can do is leave a gap and put “[Blank Page]” at the top. This may also explain why there was a blank page right in the middle of one of our papers the other day.
