More likely, simply hormonal changes that result in changes related to your menstrual cycle. I have found that my PMS symptoms have increased a great deal with age. I went thru my teens and twenties with almost NO symptoms -other than weight gain which happened like clockwork, then went away immediately before my period started. Over the past few years (and I’m well past 30 now, lol) – I can ALWAYS look forward to 2-3 days of borderline “exhaustion,” weight gain/bloating, and mood swings, followed by another day or two of sudden appetite increase that is insane, and libido that is as insane as my appetite.
