HELP! Which intermediate figure skating blade should I choose?
It’s always nice to see another adult skater. Adults have different needs then child skaters do. We generally do not progress as quickly or have the time and resources a child does. However we do have the same problem that kids have when it comes to a gigantic toe pick, only we tend to break more easily since we are further from the ice. Think carefully before purchasing an expensive pair of blades of what your budget can take and your future plans. The Paramount blades your coach recommended is more like advanced blade when it comes to adult skaters. That blade is recommended for pre-juvenile through intermediate skaters, or ISI FS5-7. It also has a 9″ rocker which I wouldn’t recommend to a FS2 as you will most likely loose your spins for a long time as the blade is unforgiving when it comes to centering your spins. MK Visions are great blades but you can get the exact same results for about half the money with several other blades unless you are planning on doing double-double jump c
