HELP!!! What are the impacts of the use of electricity on society and the environment in Australia???
Electricity by itself has the same effects to the environment everywhere on earth. It is eventually broken down into lower forms of energy ie. heat pollution and light pollution. From the first source mentioned, I looked at the primary forms of energy used chart in Australia. Just by looking at the chart, Australia relies heavily in fossil fuels still (based on sort of outdated statistics… might want to update that). Very little progress has been made from switching over to renewable energy sources. As energy consumption has increased, the allocation ratio towards renewable energy has decreased significantly. I laughed when I read the second article on the Australian government making significant efforts to reduce destruction of the ozone layer. It seems like increasing dependency on fossil fuels is hurting the case more than helping it. It could be said that increasing electricity use, increases use of fossil fuels therefore increases destruction of the ozone layer which has already
