Help understanding ejection fraction rates of the heart?

According to information on MayoClinic.com, the ejection fraction is just a measure of how well your heart is pumping blood to other parts of your body (i.e., ejecting blood). The "fraction" measures what percentage of blood in your heart is actually being pumped out, since obviously not all of the blood leaves your heart with each beat. A normal ejection fraction is anywhere between 55% and 70%.
