There were two consuls so that one could check the other’s decision. c. Politicians were obliged to serve a number of positions (quaestor, aedile, praetor) before they could be consul. This is called the cursus honorum. 4. The republic became an emperor because Caesar was appointed to ten-year and then to lifelong rule. 5. The jury system, having professional lawyers, using witnesses, the presumption of innocence and having magistrates. 6-11: not sure, just know lots about Rome.
