Having to wear a mouth guard?

0

I play hockey, and we use a similar mouth guard. The thing is, all mouthguards are big and uncomfortable. That is 100 % normal to think that. Now, I don’t know how competitively you play, but I know that I only wear my mouthguard when I am in tournaments. The point is, you can take the chance, or you can just wear it. Once you get onto the field, you’ll forget all about your mouthguard. Trust me on this one. You’ll be thinking about it on the bench, but as soon as you get on the field and you see the soccer ball, you’ll start thinking about the game. If its that uncomfortable, you’ll survive without it, but really its about to you. At least try it once. You won’t know until you try. I have friends that always wear mouthguards and are fine with it, I have other friends who think its a waste of time. People go both ways, but reallly its the risk benifit scenario. You can risk the chances or you can play it safe. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Mouthguards suck! I hate them cuz they always make me gag. I play lacrosse which is a very intense sport so 99% of the time I’m not worried about my mouthguard… I’m worried whether I can get the ball or not. Keep your mind focused on just getting the ball or defending or whatever position you play. It takes about a week or so for u to get used to it.

I have a night guard that I wear at night because I tend to clench my jaw and it’s supposed to help. At first I couldn’t stand it but now I don’t even notice it’s there. You’ll probably get used to it.

Seriously it doesn’t make a difference. I was told the same exact thing when i got my braces (almost two years ago, I also play soccer, indoor and outdoor). THE DAY I GOT THE BRACES i went to practice and got hit in the mouth with a goal kick. Nothing happened. a couple of weeks later i woke up and hit my mouth on a table, a brace popped out. So it can happen no matter what. Infact I would get ready for some stuff to fall out, I don’t know why it happens, but it does… I freaked at first, but the longer you wear the braces the less the brackets and what-not falls out. So its completey up to you.
