if you have it use self rising flour and sift it three or four times and you wil be fine if not use regular flour but you will need to add baking powder the cake flour has just been sifted alot and makes the cake turn out alot lighter, i like the old heavy home made cakes grandma use to make better than the light cakes every one make now but definatlly dont use flour with cornmeal
