You’re wrong about there being no humor in the Bible, anyway. I’m an agnostic, don’t mean to bust on you for being an atheist, but as an athiest you probably haven’t pored over the holy books enough to see the comic passages that really do exist in them. There certainly are a few humorous passages in the Jewish scriptures if you look at them the right way. I personally think one possibly apocryphal story in the Christian gospels is told with some humor, too. Example 1: Go back and read the story about God and/or some angel discussing with Abraham the destruction that God is planning to bring on Sodom. Look at how Abraham — I think somewhat nervously, because he’s negotiating with the omnipresent creator of the universe — basically tries to wheedle God out of the deal.
