Have production costs and other technical restrictions hindered the development of paper engineering as an element of book design?
RS: There are always considerations when calculating the costs for production of a movable book, such as how many glue points there are and how much paper is used. I do not consider these points to be “restrictions” here at my studio. Because we have been producing books for several years, our publishers are usually pretty open to anything unusual we’d like to try.
