The Word of God and accompanying Scriptures have made it clear that some are “called” to remain single, but it is God’s plan for most men and women to be joined to a mate. Certainly, it is important for singles to be able to accept singleness and be content while they are in that state; yet at the same time, the Scriptures make it very clear that God wants to give every believer the desires of his or her heart, as long as those desires are not out of sync with God’s will. Moreover, Jesus very plainly declared that it is entirely appropriate for God’s people to be pro-active in the pursuit of whatever they are seeking. For He said: “Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find.
