Fact: Yes. In February 2006, Reggie Fils-Aime revealed Nintendo had shipped over 1,000 Wii development kits to third-parties. When asked about whether kits had gone out at E3 2005, however, Shigeru Miyamoto said no, “We have not sent out development kits to developers yet. However, development kits for Wii are very similar to the ones for the GameCube.
