During a public forum with stakeholders on November 16, 2007, the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) presented and discussed several different generation scenarios developed to test transmission system reinforcement needs. A copy of the presentation can be found on the AESO’s website www.aeso.ca by following the path Transmission>Planning>Long Term Planning>Consultation>Long Term Transmission System Planning Stakeholder Meeting – Presentation. While the AESO has participated in a study of the potential for co-generation in the oil sands performed by the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI), the AESO is not privy to the proprietary studies completed by, or on behalf of independent developers. Copies of the CERI study may be purchased directly from the institute.
