Yes. Not only will bed bugs be prevented from entering your mattress (and/or box spring), previously infested mattresses can be covered and bed bugs will eventually die as they have no human blood source to feed upon. Encasements will not keep the bed bugs off your bed but will prevent them from hiding inside.
