Have animal-to-human xenotransplantation trials been proposed or undertaken in Australia?

0

The only animal-to-human trial of xenotransplantation that has been carried out in Australia to date, is a trial of perfusion of blood through a bioartificial liver in three participants. This trial was approved and completed before current arrangements for oversight of xenotransplantation research by the Gene and Related Therapies Research Advisory Panel was started (see below). Some other trials have subsequently been proposed but not approved.
