Have a baby dove that weighs .7 oz.,is 2cc of food about right for his weight?
It depends on what you are feeding it, and how many days old it is. Younger babies need more protien and fat than older birds. In the wild, baby pigeons and doves are fed a “crop milk” by their parents, which is super-rich in fat and protien. It is the only thing they are fed for the frst 10 days, before the parents start to introduce solid food. If you are not feeding the proper formula, it does not matter how many cc’s you give it, it will not get the proper nutrition and will end up being malnurished. If this is a domestic dove, you should not have taken it from the parents yet – let them feed the baby. If it is a wild bird, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
