Has there ever been Marshall law declared in a U.S. city?

0

Martial law has been declared only 2 times in US history. The 1st was when General Andrew Jackson declared martial law after he won the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812 and when US forces re-occupied the city. The 2nd time was in World War 2 when the state (then territory) of Hawaii was under martial law from 194 to 1945. Martial law was never declared after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans because the term does not exist in Louisiana state law even though the term was used by the Mayor but it was never officially declared. Hope this info helps.
