Has there been a change in the LEP Student Group graduation rate definition?
Proposed changes to the LEP student group graduation rate definition are awaiting approval by the USDE. If approved, the AYP LEP student group for graduation rate will include the current LEP students plus students formerly identified as LEP during any of their years in Texas public schools. Proposed changes to the LEP student group graduation rate definition were approved on July 12, 2010, by the USDE. The AYP LEP student group for graduation rate definition includes the current LEP students plus students formerly identified as LEP at any time while enrolled in grades 9-12 in Texas public schools. The USDE approved change to the LEP student group definition is shown in the July 23, 2010, To the Administrator Addressed letter.
