Has the WCIRB instituted any changes to file processing since the first release of the California Medical Data Call Reporting Guide?
Effective August 16, 2010, the WCIRB California Medical Data Call Reporting Guide has been revised to eliminate the Replacement File processing reporting rule outlined in Section 6C2 – Replacing Files. This reporting rule allowed data submitters to collectively replace all of the individual records in a single data submission. The WCIRB has retained the reporting rule outlined in the Reporting Guide, Section 6C1 – Deleting Files. This reporting rule allows data submitters to collectively delete all of the individual records in a single data submission. Practically, this means that Replacement Files containing only a Header with a Record Total = ‘0’ will be accepted. By retaining the ability to submit this type of Replacement File, data submitters will be able to delete all of the records in the Original File submission.
