Has the stress of college – killed anyone?

I am not sure that the stress of college killed anyone one but I can tell you one thing for sure the paying back of the loans once these young adults graduate, enter the work field to which jobs are few, might be a level of stress we have not seen in a mighty long time.

Since this is an “Outside the bag” question I’m going to provide an “outside the bag” response. I can invision college TEACHING being a factor in contributing to a person’s demise. I taught geology, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental science courses in college for 41 years, 37 of those were full time. Thought administrative bullshit was the most difficult for me to tolerate (college education is big business) I was also worn down by the tremendous percentage of my students who did not want to be there and acted as though they couldn’t care less about the subject. Whereas I served in the U.S. Armed Forces in a difficult time and worked in a factory full-time night shift while a college undergraduate (married with children)and thoroughly enjoyed every course I took including those ones which were outside my field – and I worked my butt off – what I see now is a student population cluttered with people who are heavy into entitlement and short on responsibility.
