Has the public been given adequate opportunity to participate in the planning process for MetroLink?
A. The Council has conducted an extensive public engagement process starting even before design work was underway. This process has involved public open houses, public design workshops, scores of meetings with subdivisions, civic groups, and municipalities. A Community Working Group, involving citizens representing affected communities and interests, was organized to provide another way to provide input to the design. To keep interested parties informed about the project, the Council has prepared newsletters, press announcements, and advertisements as well as maintained a project web site.
