Has the format of the Document-Based Question (DBQ) recently changed?
The format of the DBQ on the AP U.S. History Exam has not changed; each DBQ still has from 8 to 10 documents, including written texts as well as nontext sources such as photographs, cartoons, maps, and graphs, arranged in chronological order. However, starting with the 2003 exam administration, the AP United States History Development Committee ended the practice of announcing in advance the 50-year time period for the DBQ.
