Has the corps considered non-dredging alternatives that have been proposed to address the near-term sedimentation problem?

0

A. The Corps gave full consideration to all practical non-dredging alternatives that could conceivably resolve short-term navigation problems. Three activities, sediment reduction, sediment flushing, and light-loading, were evaluated and discussed in the SEA-03/04 regarding their applicability to near-term dredging activities. These measures were determined to be inadequate to meet the purpose and need for the near-term sedimentation problem. This information is the most current information available, but an evaluation of any new data will be incorporated in the PSMP/SEIS.
