Has the combination of architecture with liberal arts created more collaboration between design students and other creative disciplines?

Unlike architecture, the other four departments have been providing service courses to students in liberal arts across the college. The majority of students take introduction courses in arts or theater. Architecture hasn’t been called to do that in the past, but we are now part of the larger college and we’ll do our part. What’s your assessment of UNC Charlotte’s architecture program? It’s a very strong program with a dedicated and collegial staff, with a high level of dedication to teaching. The faculty is engaged, ambitious and thoughtful. In many ways the program is regional. One thing I hope to do is share the quality of the program on a more national level. There is some very good work that’s being done here and it could use a national stage for disseminating it. What opportunities did you see that drew you here from Atlanta and Georgia Tech?
