Has the Chattanooga Mocs Club leadership approved this change?
Over several meetings between UTC and Chattanooga Mocs Club officers this spring, the concept of unifying these two organizations was deliberated. Many hours were spent discussing the benefits of such a combination, as well as the potential pitfalls. In the end, however, both groups are committed to a community and donor outreach program with a “best practices” approach. We must work to significantly grow the number of friends that support and stay involved with UTC Athletics. Combining the two organizations offers a preferred model for growing private resources and encouraging broad participation. At the Chattanooga Mocs Club’s Annual Meeting in May, UTC extended the formal invitation for the group to become the Chattanooga Chapter of the “new” UTC Mocs Club. The membership gave the group’s Board of Directors a vote of confidence to investigate the details associated with such an alliance.
